What’s new on Twitter and Instagram?

Twitter: Live Photos become GIFs

Nothing beats live photos that show you the moment before your perfect shot. Now those memorable photos can be shared instead of staying unnoticed in your phone gallery. Twitter rolled out a new GIF creation functionality that converts your iOS live photos into looping GIF direct from the Twitter compose window.

Select, Tap, Share

When you open Twitter to upload an image you’ve taken with Live Photo enabled, you will get the chance to convert it into a GIF in simple steps, select the photo you want, tap the GIF button, and share it.

Though the option to convert Live Photos into GIFs has existed for a while, integrating it directly into the upload process makes it more appealing among Twitter users.

Funny and Special Live Photos

Live photos are also famous for capturing embarrassing and messy moments leading to a whole set of funny Live Photos that went wrong. Now people might use this to make their followers laugh and add a special touch to their profiles by sharing classic Live Photo fails.

What’s also likely to happen, users can also start taking more planned shots meeting a certain purpose.

Instagram: New Poses Mode for Stories

We all love to capture our favourite moments and share them with others. Instagram stories are booming and people are posting their memories, wishes, pictures, tips, and more as stories on their accounts. Instagram is developing a new stories camera option in the form of “Poses”, creating stop-motion style clips out of multiple images.

More Story Tools Options

Now stories will become even more engaging and similar to Photo Booths with the new feature in the development process. This would serve as a good option to showcase product shots from different angles in quick succession. Consequently, being a strategic tool to market some items.

Additionally, this is a smart step that might act as prompt action on the platform by providing steps to guide through a process like signing up to an email newsletter.

Maintaining the Power of Stories

Instagram aims to meet the demand of users to post stories and keep them rising and trendy, which is why it is still adding more options to the ever-growing list of story tools including new Layouts and shoutouts modes for stories content.

Challenge with Stories

Users will be excited to try these new options and will experiment with the various new tools available. However, the challenge remains from the risk of repeated use leading to these tools becoming generic over time.

Twitter and Instagram are always adding new features to surpass people’s expectations to make their experience amusing and advanced.
